Statement to customers
With the 2012 Olympic Games fast approaching; UK Mail have been preparing since 2011 to ensure our service to customers remains at its highest level possible. Over the past few months intensive research has been carried out with contact being made with the organising authorities leading us to form an Olympics Committee.
The committee will be meeting regularly to make certain we have all the information needed in preparation for the games. The last meeting included a presentation from the Metropolitan Police about security arrangements and a briefing regarding specific delivery to the Westfield site. Leading on from the meeting our key areas of focus are:
-
Road closures, time and parking restrictions and congestion
-
Access to our sites in Docklands, Slough, Greenford, Bournemouth, Fareham and Croydon for vehicles, customer collections and staff.
In order for our service to run smoothly we are currently working on the following:
-
Development of detailed operational plans with the Olympic Route Network and alternate routes
-
Communications Plan
-
An Olympic area on our website with links to useful information and regular customer updates
-
Postcode mapping for regular delivery and collection address to allow direct contact with customers to discuss arrangements.
