UK Mail to launch first class delivery with i-mail

i-mail offers an intelligent mail solution that delivers nationally and prints locally.

UK Mail, part of the Business Post Group, is to launch a new next-day mail delivery service, i-mail, with prices starting at less than the price of a first class stamp and including all stationary and printing costs.   This follows an agreement with the Royal Mail to allow evening access to its mail centres for the first time, and once operational, will make UK Mail the first private organisation to be able to provide an alternative next day service to nationwide addresses in the history of the postal service.

i-mail is designed for first and second class post business users that are looking to lower costs, reduce the administrative burden and minimise the environmental impact of their organisation. The service will be available to all sizes and types of businesses and be of specific interest to SMEs, marketing organisations and business and utility services providers.

Customers will be able to gain free access to the i-mail service direct from their Internet-enabled laptop or PC. The i-mail print option will send an encrypted copy of a letter or document direct to one of UK Mail’s national network of sort centres where it will be printed, enveloped and transferred into Royal Mail for delivery by their postmen. Furthermore, customers will be able to send their mail requirements as late as 6pm for nationwide delivery the next day.

This i-mail service will offer new levels of choice to commercial mail users as well as allowing multi-site organisations to coordinate time-sensitive, customer correspondence, providing enhanced flexibility, increased control and brand consistency.

i-mail will also appeal to businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint as it will significantly reduce the mail mileage of delivering a letter. By printing locally from a network of mail fulfilment centres i-mail will reduce transport requirements that have previously been a necessary part of operating a national delivery solution resulting in massive reductions in vehicle emissions.

Guy Buswell, Chief Executive of Business Post Group commented: “UK Mail has once again demonstrated its progressive and innovative nature by becoming the first company to negotiate late evening access into Royal Mail’s postal centres and offer an alternative next day delivery option. i-mail will enable UK Mail to offer a real choice to UK businesses and underlines our commitment to providing additional value to our customers.”
