UK Mail is leading Downstream Access Supplier again

UK Mail wins for a second year in a row at the 2007 Mail awards

UK Mail, the mail services division of the Business Post Group, has won the Downstream Access Supplier of the Year Award for the second year running at the 2007 Mail Awards. This prestigious accolade was one of eight categories on offer at the annual ceremony in London, which rewards innovation, encourages best practice and recognises improvements across the whole UK mail logistics chain.

The award, open to all Downstream Access (DSA) operators in the UK, was given to the company who achieved the best overall quality at the mail handover interface with Royal Mail. The criteria used to determine the award was based on activities that are measured as part of the contract between the suppliers and Royal Mail, including reliability, operational effectiveness and health & safety. An independent panel of judges, who have extensive experience in the mail industry, agreed that UK Mail had demonstrated the highest level of quality and performance during the previous twelve months.

Steve Patrick, Managing Director of UK Mail commented: “The winning of the award for the second time underlines our ongoing commitment to quality, integrity and operational excellence. We are delighted that The Mail Awards has again recognised the outstanding contribution UK Mail is making to the postal sector within the UK, and congratulations should go to all our employees whose continued efforts have made this possible.”

Newly signed customer, Virgin Media, said of the achievement: “We would like to offer our congratulations to UK Mail on their success.  We are excited to be starting a new partnership with them and have every confidence in their ability to deliver excellent service levels”.

The UK Mail Awards was launched in 2004 by Triangle Management Services, following the success of the World Mail Awards.  Each award is judged by a national panel of experts whose deliberations are independent of the organisers and sponsors.
