Our values

We consider caring for the environment and wider communities to be one of the single most important challenges confronting companies today.

UK Mail recognises that its business activities invariably have both a direct and indirect impact on our society and the environment and as such is committed to managing these impacts responsibly. This involves us conducting our business according to the following principles:

• Improving fuel efficiency of our vehicle fleet, through improved mpg, using lower emission fuels and ensuring vehicles are monitored to operate at the optimum efficient  level
• Reducing fuel usage by optimising route planning software
• Improving waste management & recycling
• Aspiring to achieve ISO 14001 accreditation (series of international standards on environmental management) in all sites
• Encouraging customers & suppliers to achieve similar CSR goals
• Fulfilling obligations signed up to in the UN Global Compact
  

In our view corporate social responsibility includes voluntary actions of best practice as well as the need to meet legislation and we aim to work in a way that proactively makes a positive difference to our community and the environment, wherever possible.
