Career Profile | HR Advisor
I joined Business Post in April 2005 as revenue protection supervisor, working for the customer service director. After approximately six months, the role of HR project co-ordinator became available, and having previously worked within an HR environment, and wanted to return to such a role. Having successfully applied for the position, I joined the human resource team in January 2006. I enjoyed the pace and variety of the project co-ordinator role, but as the business continued to grow, particularly in terms of its corporate sites, it became apparent that another advisor was required for the South region. Therefore, I applied for this newly-created role and was appointed Assistant HR Advisor in July 2006. A comprehensive training plan was implemented, along with huge support from the two HR Advisors and Head of HR. The “on the job” training has been invaluable, and I find that, for me, is a more effective way of learning. During my time with Business Post, I have seen an increase in the benefits offered. Furthermore, I believe that there are opportunities to progress and develop through internal vacancies and training provision.
