Peter Kane - Chairman

Founded the Company and, with Michael Kane, his brother, was responsible for its development until becoming a non-executive director in 1996. After a period as Chief Executive from August 1998, he resumed his non-executive role on 1 April 2001, and was appointed Chairman on 10 July 2001.

 

 
Executive Directors

Guy Buswell - Chief Executive

Joined the Company in 1989 and was appointed Sales Director in 1992. After a period elsewhere in the industry he rejoined the Company in 1997 and was appointed to the Board on 12 August 1998. Became Managing Director of UK Mail from 1 July 2002 and Chief Executive from 5 December 2005. 

 

 
Steven Glew - Group Finance Director

Was appointed as Group Finance Director and joined the Board on 5th June 2006. Before joining Mothercare plc as Group Finance Director in 2003, he had similar roles with Booker plc and Crown Sports plc.  He is a non-exective director of Supergroup PLC.  He is a Chartered Accountant.






 


Alec Ross - Group Operations Director

Joined the Company in June 1997 with 20 years' experience in systems development in transport and logistics and was appointed to the Board in September 1998.  He became Group Sales Director in December 2005 and Group Operations Director in January 2007.

 

 
Non-Executive Directors

Bill Cockburn CBE, TD - Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Non-Executive Director

Is a non executive director of AWG. Was Chief Executive of The Post Office from 1992 to 1995, Chief Executive of WH Smith from 1995 to 1997 and Group Managing Director of BT from 1997 to 2001. He was appointed as a non-executive director on 1 April 2002 and advises the Group on mail matters.  He is also a Member of the Executive Committee of the Army Board and Chairman of the Senior Salaries Review Body.




 
 

Michael Kane - Non-Executive Director

Joined the Company in 1974, became Managing Director in 1984, Chief Executive in November 1995 and non-executive director in March 1997. Acted as Chief Operating Officer from July 2000 until resuming his non-executive role on 1 April 2001.

 

 

Trevor Jenkins C.A. -  Non-Executive Director  

Appointed to the Board on 1 September 2008.  Trevor is Chief Financial Officer of Reed Business, a division of Reed Elsevier Group Plc and has previously held senior financial roles at Pearson Plc and Mars Inc.  He is a Chartered Accountant.               

 

 

Michael Findlay -  Non-Executive Director  

Was appoinyed to the Board on 1 September 2009.  Michael has held senior roles in the Corporate Broking departments of UBS and Merrill Lynch International.  At Merrill Lynch he was co-head of the Corporate Broking business from 2004 until his retirement in April 2009.  He is Chairman of Fin Capital Limited and a director of BowFin Limited.
