AGM / INTERIM MANAGEMENT STATEMENT

At today’s AGM of Business Post Group plc, Chairman Peter Kane will announce the following
statement to shareholders covering the period 1 April 2009 to 30 June 2009.
We have made a satisfactory start to the financial year, with trading performance in line with
management expectations.

“Underlying group revenues (adjusted for the number of working days) were in line with the
revenues for the same period in the previous year. On an unadjusted basis group revenues in
the period decreased by approximately 4% year on year

.
Our parcels business has seen an improved trend in underlying volume and revenue
performance and, whilst still down on the previous year, this improvement is encouraging.
Our Mail business, UK Mail, continues to achieve satisfactory levels of growth, benefiting from
the early mail volumes from recent contract wins.

Revenues in specialist Services, on an underlying basis, were slightly ahead of last year.
The Board plans to change the name of the Group to ‘UK Mail Group plc’ in early October
2009. This will recognise the broad range of services the group now offers under the UK Mail
brand, and reflects the livery that is now in use on the Group’s fleet and premises.”
